Exercise physiologist

We are really excited to welcome our new Exercise Physiologist Carla. 

Carla has always had a love of sports, exercise, movement, and physical activity. She is really looking forward to sharing this with her clients, with a goal to making, not just short term but longterm benefits in their lives. 

Connecting with the community is foremost in Carla's life as it plays an important part of mental health and well being. 

What is an exercise physiologist?

An Exercise Physiologist or EP is an allied health practitioner who specialises in using exercise to assist patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, injuries or disability. They use specialised exercise prescription to better manage their condition and improve daily life. They assess whole body strength, mobility and function.


EP's work with conditions such as:

  • Cardiovascular conditions:

  • Cancer treatment recovery

  • Chronic pain and fatigue

  • Managing arthritis pain

  • Diabetes

  • Metabolic Syndrome

  • Musculoskeletal

  • Neurological (eg Parkingon's, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Functional Disorders)

Obesity research has shown that exercise at the proper intensity and the correct duration can improve outcomes for patients with injuries and decrease the incidence of obesity and chronic health conditions. 

Can i claim exercise physiology?

Exercise Physiology can be claimed through your:

  • Health Insurance (amount depends on your level of cover)

  • Medicare (with a primary care plan from your Doctor)

  • My Aged Care package

  • Department of Veteran's Affairs and

  • NDIS schemes

You do not need a referral from your doctor to see an exercise physiologist.
