What is a myotherapist?

A Myotherapist is a well respected allied health professional who treats and manages the immediate symptoms and underlying cause of musle and joint related pain and dysfuntion. 

Symptoms of soft tissue or myofascial pain include:

  • deep and contant aching

  • diminished flexibility

  • muscle tightness and soreness

  • stiff joints

  • exhaustion

  • numbness

  • reacurring tingling or pins and needles senstation

  • accute or chronic pain

Myotherepists identify, manage and reduce myofascial pain, injury and dysfunction that affects mobility and movement in the body.  This pain varies in severeness and can refer or expand to other areas of the body if left untreated. Following a thorough assessment and diagnosis, a customised treatment plan is developed for each client to promote optimal physical health and wellbeing. Treatment includes:

  • Soft tissue therapy

  • Trigger point therepy

  • Dry needling (acupuncture)

  • Cupping therepy

  • Joint mobilisation

  • Electrotherapy 

  • Prescriptive rehabilation exercises

Can i claim myotherapy?

Exercise Physiology can be claimed through your:

  • Health Insurance (amount depends on your level of cover)

  • NDIS schemes

You do not need a referral from your doctor to see a Myotherapist.
